Sabina, very nice job by opening this new section about news worth bookmarking

Atheists, agnostics most knowledgeable about religion, survey says from Los Angeles Times.
It is an interesting article that actually shows how superficial are people even in such things like ideological or religious believes, although it is generally considered that people are mostly attached to them.
My personal experience shows the same. Between people I know as religious, most of them do not have the minimum of real knowledge about their religion.
But, for me, the last sentence from the article about general knowledge explains everything. Quite sad...

Re: World News
That's why I like the Chinese proverb I am currently using in my signature:
"A Jade stone is useless before it is processed;
a man is good-for-nothing until he is educated."
Education and curiosity are so very important! Or, to use Skinner's words:
"We shouldn't teach great books; we should teach a love of reading."
Religion, nor any form of spirituality, must never replace an education.
