Willing,are you
Two mega events in life seem to be beyond human free will. They are when one is born and when one dies. There is no free will at these two pertinent points. Our senses, brain and mind are a pre-programmed hardware, design of the bearded gent who lives beyond the clouds(debatable, nonetheless without our consent). So is everything we do only an illusion of control ?

Determinism is not mutually exclusive with choice.
Dennett has a brilliant lecture on compatibilism which asserts this:

Re: Willing,are you
This is an interesting question.
It seems to be completely different in life. It is hardly imaginable to have an idea to go to the place A and instead to find yourself in the place B, other than to have some dementia problems. This shows that behind choices there is an intelligent mind that creates them.
Does it mean that behind these two destinations (birth and death) is also an intelligent mind that keeps all these strings as nerves of the whole?
