Weapons are necessary for hunting, farming, and carpentry.
At least that is the way I would finish the sentence using Wikipedia's definition of "weapon".

Hmm... that sounds like weapons are merely tools and that's it. Granted, weapons are tools as well, but then many things are tools, and not all tools are weapons.
