Ummm...
Ladies and gentlemen, I have just run into the first unforeseen hurdle of this trip. Or to be more precise, I knew this to be a potential issue, but had not yet looked into the solving of it.
I'm sick. As a dog.
And I've no idea what vegetarian option fills the role of that sovereign remedy-for-what-ails-you, chicken soup.
At the moment I'm subsisting on tea and toast (two more common remedies), but nothing else will stay down. Doctor says it's just a nasty virus and will pass in time...and told me to eat chicken soup! As the mere suggestion of consuming anything involving chicken makes me even more queasy, that option is out!
Ah, well. I've enough energy stored on my body, I'm not going to starve in a few tea-and-toast days.

Everyone's got a tale to tell,
I know I'm not the first, or last but somewhere in-between;
Not best but not the worst.

Re: Ummm...
Agate, is it a cough or something else?
If it's a cough, then here are several proven tips: natural remedies for cough
I would particularly stress the tips under fluids, herbal remedies and the folk remedy at the bottom.

No, it's just nausea to the nth degree. Spent most of yesterday barfing up my shoes
Yes, I am coughing some...but only when I'm puking.

Re: Ummm...
Under the link Sabina gave you there are lot of great information that could be of help, including a demystification of chicken soup.
What helps me in such condition is lot vitamin C in food and drinks, ginger works magically, try not to think too much, but to rest and when doing something be it something that makes you feel happy.
Beside, gurgle with warm water with a bit of salt two times a day.
