Deep Spirits

The evening sun was beginning to go down behind the mountains, the shadows lengthening across the still water.
Across from where i sat the island was stark against the mountain, its dense foliage dramatic. On first glance the island seemed part of the shoreline, and as appreciation of its beauty grew so did my solitude.

Immense beauty, broken by a white swan moving out of shadow into fading shafts of sun light, my heart warmed my eyes.

Moments of wonder, sourced from calm solitude, black on white, sun on skin.

I first read it last night, wanted to ask a question, but wasn't even sure if it's "appropriate" to ask anything... but I shall, naturally...So...
Why did your solitude grow with appreciation of this beauty?

I find myself being drawn inward in moments such as those, it reminds me that Beauty etc is recognised from within, this entails a feeling of solitude for at least a moment?
