The Incredible Hans Zimmer
| I think Hans Zimmer deserves a topic for himself in our musical forum, as he is definitely one of the best contemporary composers. He was born on September 12th 1957, in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, and.... Hans Zimmer is completely self-taught! I just discovered that myself... so I must admit, I admire him even more now. His first Oscar nomination was in 1988 for the musical score of Rain Man. | |

| PS: Have you ever wondered which is Hans Zimmer's favorite movie theme? It's "Assault on Precinct 13" (1976), composed by John Carpenter. :) "If something happened where I couldn't write music anymore, it would kill me. It's not just a job. It's not just a hobby. It's why I get up in the morning." ~Hans Zimmer | |
