He was born on September 12th 1957, in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, and.... Hans Zimmer is completely self-taught! I just discovered that myself... so I must admit, I admire him even more now. His first Oscar nomination was in 1988 for the musical score of Rain Man. |  |
