Various terms originate from other terms. Using an existing symbol, especially if the symbol is as common as Earth, Wind, Fire, Water, Rainbow, Clouds,.... is quite natural, or do you seriously believe that if the Indigenous Peoples of Australia didn't come up with it then nobody else would have?
