No, not gauche. Let's see if we can clear up the "God is an atheist" cartoon. Maybe that will help the overall understanding?
"Faith is the belief in things that aren't based in fact."
God knows everything, so God doesn't have faith, since... "faith is the belief in things that aren't based in fact."
If you know everything, then it is impossible for you to have "faith" (by definition), right?
God is the ultimate highest power, therefore God cannot believe in a higher power.
So... conclusion, God (like Atheists) doesn't believe in a higher power.
Does that make sense?

I thought that all the "comics" were hilarious!!
the one with Thor and his hammer...great!
The way I perceived this, was that those comics were merely meant as something humourous...nothing serious, but still witty
