Favorite Painting
Short & sweet: What is your favorite painting and why?
If you have more than one favorite, that's perfectly understandable.
If you are not sure how to add images to your post, look here.

I know it's an engraving, but i can't help it.All the symbols and science allegories own my heart. In addition, Melancholy is my favorite Temperament
..I hope i'll be excused for not presenting an actual painting..

Re: Favorite Painting
MaskedSenses, you are absolutely "excused"! Lovely choice.
Here is one of my many favorites... "Triton" by Boris Vallejo (whose work I otherwise don't particularly care for, or rather not care for at all... this is the glorious exception):

This is one of my favorites..."Floating" by Sabina Nore. I love some other her paintings, but this one corresponds very deeply to my understanding of love and soul mate story. I think that it was another title in option "The Golden Egg", but for me it is and will stay "Floating".

As for contemporary artists, one of my favorites would be Brian Despain's "Ninth Angel"

Re: Favorite Painting
I have so many favourite paintings that I am wondering if there is any meaning in using the word favourite at all. Anyway, here is "Christal" by Robert Venosa:

Robert Venosa - Christal
I especially like his technique, in which he achieves transclucent and crystaline textures by using traditional media.
Love,
Alexander

Alexander,
It's extra-ordinary!!
PS: It is perfectly alright to add multiple "favorite paintings". More for us to enjoy!

Re: Favorite Painting
I like this one as it follows my bio rhythm very well, like sorting my own inner feelings through her cubes.
The name of this painting is Sorting the Cubes.
