aura –noun

1. a distinctive and pervasive quality or character; air; atmosphere: an aura of respectability; an aura of friendliness.
2. a subtly pervasive quality or atmosphere seen as emanating from a person, place, or thing.
3. Pathology. a sensation, as of lights or a current of warm or cold air, preceding an attack of migraine or epilepsy.

aural –adjective

1. of or pertaining to an aura.
2. of or pertaining to the ear or to the sense of hearing.

Well... sound is a wave of a solid, gas, or liquid...right?
Sound can only be perceived by the ear at certain frequencies.
Some people can hear things others cannot.

Light being a wave as well...but only energy.
Light can only be perceived by the eyes at certain frequencies.
Some people can see better than others.

An aura is a wave of... something?
Auras can only be perceived by... something... at certain frequencies?
Some people can tune into auras better than others.

Well an aura is typically considered to be something seen by the eyes, but what if it is actually something that is heard? The ears "hear" things by the cochlea vibrating in response to the sound waves. However what if these "waves" vibrate at a level we do not realize is a sound? Our body would then try to rationalize those vibrations in another manner. Light itself is a form of vibration that is emitted from energy and (as far as I know) the only other method of sensory perception where we specifically feel by vibration. So what if our body performs a form of synthesis by imagining the aura from a different sensory organ than it is actually being perceived from?
