Re: A Soldier's Confession
This new forum is great and respecful idea, Sabina. Just as an idea it is something that tremendously moves by putting each of us in the position of an active person who thinks and acts led by personal consciousness and not as a weapon of any other person, system or ideology.
First topic is tragically heroic as an action of true civil courage.
I gave Kudos to Sabina for opening this forum Civil Courage and starting it with this first topic.

Yes, I agree, and Alija, yes, he is very much alive!
I had to find him and contact him after I read your message.
Here is a site he is a part of: MarchForward.org, for veterans and service members.
Also, for further promotion of the video, he asked if we can use this version:
Here is the direct link on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MEzdMorHrHA
Last but not least, it should be said that there are other soldiers from the same war that feel the same as he does, and each who speaks out and tells his story is a hero.

Re: A Soldier's Confession
Very powerful and sad! I agree with almost everything he says. The only things that does not ring true to me is that the purpose of the war is to make the rich richer and to promote racism. I just don't know about that. If that were the case it would at least make a little more sense.
My gut instinct and what evidence I have tells me that the one most important motivating factor of this war is ...."Whose invisible God is real and most powerful." Read Sam Harris..."Letter To A Christian Nation" if you want to see the real cause of these immoral and stupid wars.

Following GG´s advice I tried to find more about Sam Harris and his book. This video was there too and I think that could be also of some help:
