What is a Free Thinker

I was going to post another topic, and I will, but it was going to include the phrase "free thinker".
I thought before discussing the next topic we should first clarify what a free thinker is.
While the concept of a free thinker is (or seems) self-understood to me, at least in my head, I am not sure how to really put it into words.

A free thinker questions things, looks for alternative or better ways to solve any (new or old) problem.
A free thinker thinks outside the "box", independently of any traditions or set ways, which implies a good imagination as well.

What else? What is a free thinker in your opinion?

Free thinker is free of dogmas and not conditioned with authority or any kind of "truths".
Free thinker is courageous and curious, motivated by ideas and not by materialistic values.
Free thinker is open to learn and inspired to teach.
