Songs for Answering Machine Messages
Certain songs are very fitting as answering machine or voice mail messages.
I used to have a piece of "Wake up dead man" (U2) as a message on my answering machine... that was years ago. There is an even older song, somewhat silly and a very obvious choice, that is also suitable.
I can't think of any other songs that are, though there must be dozens! At least dozens...
So, feel free to pitch in!
Here are the first two...

Wake up dead man, by U2
Piece for answering machine:
Tell me, tell me the story
The one about eternity
And the way it's all gonna be
Tell me, tell me the story
The one about eternity
And the way it's all gonna be
Ring ring ring, by De La Soul
Piece for answering machine:
Hey how ya doin'
Sorry ya can't get through
Why don't you leave your name
And your number
And I'll get back to you
Hey how are ya doin'
Sorry ya can't get through
But leave your name (uh)
And your number
And I'll get back to you.

Hey how are ya doin'

And your number
And I'll get back to you.

How about:
I had thought to post "Hello" by Lionel Ritchie... but I couldn't find just the chorus and the rest didn't really work...
Evanescence - "Call Me When You're Sober"
