Very interesting way to present delivery and looks quite logical for the baby to feel excatly that way.
This is how the things are.
And look what Woody Allen would like them to be. The same should be the end, not the start.

My next life
by Woody Alen
In my next life I want to live my life backwards.
You start out dead and get that out of the way.
Then you wake up in an old people's home feeling better every day.
You get kicked out for being too healthy,
go collect your pension, and then when you start work,
you get a gold watch and a party on your first day.
You work for 40 years until you're young enough to enjoy your retirement.
You party, drink alcohol, and are generally promiscuous,
then you are ready for high school.
You then go to primary school, you become a kid, you play.
You have no responsibilities, you become a baby until you are born.
And then you spend your last 9 months floating in luxurious spa
like conditions with central heating and room service on tap,
larger quarters every day and then Voila!
You finish off as an orgasm.
I rest my case.

Woody Allen or George Carlin

Postby Sabina » Fri Mar 05, 2010 3:50 am

I see... but somehow I can't imagine George Carlin using Woody Allen's material. B0)
Image
This supposed Woody Allen quote can be found on many blogs as well as in chain letters, but nobody can nor does provide any source for it. It cannot be found on any legitimate/reliable websites. The text is not identical to Carlin's quote, but it is very close.

George Carlin wrote:I want to live my next life backwards:
You start out dead and get that out of the way.
Then you wake up in a nursing home feeling better every day.
Then you get kicked out for being too healthy.
Enjoy your retirement and collect your pension.
Then when you start work, you get a gold watch on your first day .
You work 40 years until you're too young to work.
You get ready for High School: drink alcohol, party, and you're generally promiscuous.
Then you go to primary school, you become a kid, you play, and you have no responsibilities.
Then you become a baby, and then...
You spend your last 9 months floating peacefully in luxury, in spa-like conditions - central heating, room service on tap, and then...
You finish off as an orgasm.

I have found only a handful of people asking these same questions, and from what I could see it is just left alone, for lack of evidence. One person was very upset about this and wrote:
There's no known source of the piece, it doesn't resemble his other writings in the slightest, and my google searches have only pulled up postings on journals and chain letters. Clearly this is a sham quotation, like the George Carlin and John Cleese pieces that also floated around the interwebs.
I'm convinced that there's somebody actively trying to sully the reputations of great comedic writers by relying on stupid and gullible people to pass along cheesy chain letters.

Whoever wrote this has a point, don't you think?

And yes.. it does look more like something George Carlin would say/write than Woody Allen.
Both of them were/are good comedians, so I doubt either stole from the other.
The George Carlin quote can be found on reputable sites as well, while the Woody Allen quote can only be found on blogs and in e-mails.
My guess would be that it is a prank someone started and it caught on, as millions of these things seem to nowadays.

Brilliant research Sabina. I feel like an idiot for contributing to such stupidity. You are right. I have got this text form a friend and (unfortunately) automatically took it as an original without researching. Good lesson for me to research a bit more next time before becoming one of many in the chain of stupidity and superficiality. =0(
The good thing in the whole is that there is always a reason for everything. For me, this what has happened in this case helped me to be more firm in my answer to your question put in the topic "No more Hoaxes" no-more-hoaxes!-p2521.html#p2521
You have my answer here, I shall give my time to the researches of that kind and when I have something I shall report it here.
Thank you for this eyes opening.

What both Allen and Carlin wrote must have been based on Scott Fitzgerald's short story "The curious case of Benjamin Button," written in 1921. There was an adaptation for a film, a couple of years ago starring Brad Pitt, but the story in the film was a lot different from Fitzgerald's story.

Yes Heidi, in the sense of life going backwards, most definitely.
I wouldn't say Woody Allen and George Carlin though, it really does seem that it's only Carlin.
I didn't read the story, but "the curious case of Benjamin Button" was a very interesting movie with amazing special effects! What was different in the story in comparison to the movie?

The time setting and the love story were really different.
