Rumi was Persian poet and Sufi who lived in the 13th century. He was aware of the uncontrollable and idiosyncratic impact of poetry.
“The meaning of poetry has no sureness of direction; is like the sling, it is not under control.”
There are references to him in the work of Emerson and Hegel and many other writers.
1997 he was ranked as the best selling poet in America. His poetry is shaped with the close relationship with his father who was mystic Baha al-Din and with his spiritual and emotional involvement with the dervish Shams al-Din of Tabriz.
With his poetry he was capable to transcending this reality and conjuring up the mystical inward reality in a very modest way.
For this topic I present his wonderful love poetry as A Gift of Love of Deepak Chopra.

Two brilliant minds united in the eternal beauty of poetry and mysticism.
