Music of my Soul

That ancient art form whose medium is sound.
Melody, harmony, rhythm and inspiration.

I forgot to mention the reason behind that last post, these are a few of my favorite Youtube gems!
the first, a very emotional performance by etta james and dr. john
the second, a beautiful cover of ain't no sunshine by the Neville Brothers
the third, quite possibly my favorite blues song of all time! Time Makes Two- Robert Cray!
the fourth, a beautiful protest song by sam cooke
the fifth, one of my favorite love songs! Otis Redding-Cigarettes and Coffee.

i hope you enjoy! =0D

I like very much again your selection, Kieran. Actually this kind of music has been missing here. They are all great songs, but my choice are Robert Cray and Sam Cooke. Neville Brothers are also great as I like very much this song.

from one of my favorite instrumental albums. Godspeed You! Black Emperor - Sleep(song)- Lift Your Skinny Fist Like Antennas to Heaven.

A band from my home state of Texas! This album changed the way I listened to music. Explosions in the Sky - The only moment we were alone - The Earth is not a Cold Dead Place.

Super fun video, excellent song. Goddamn Electric Bill - Lost in the Zoo

There is something about an instrumental song that seems to skip the process of the mind and run straight to my soul. Without words to direct your emotion, you are free to feel what music inspires. These songs don't attach themselves to specific ideas but seem to capture a moment in time and transport you back to the same thoughts and emotions you felt in that moment. These three in particular have meant a lot to me personally. As always I hope you all enjoy them =0)

Kieran, I agree about instrumental music... I am going to open a new topic dedicated solely to instrumental pieces.
