What is dream music?
It could be understood different ways... Background music for dreams is one possible explanation.
I was reading about "Dead Can Dance" (a band I adore) and through that discovered there is something called "dream pop".
By the way, Dead Can Dance falls into the following music categories: Ethereal Wave, World Music, Darkwave, Gothic, Ambient, and Dream pop).
Dream pop is a subgenre of alternative rock that originated in the United Kingdom in the mid-80s, when various bands began fusing post-punk and ethereal experiments with bittersweet pop melodies into sensual, sonically ambitious soundscapes.

So, for this topic I suggest that the term Dream music represents sensual, sonically ambitious soundscapes.
