I actually own one. It's an instrument often used in soundtracks and it is also used from scientists to call whales and dolphins underwater. I might record something on my instrument and post it here later. =0)

I can easily imagine the waterphone being used it soundtracks for horror movies or thrillers... but as with any instrument, it probably mostly depends on how you play it. It would be great to hear your sample!
